Mind Fuck Ranaway Part 3

Part 3

As we set off again, all motions were stoped. The trusty old van had had enough an didn't want to continue. We tried and tried- but no go, so we made the call to head back to the bay and get the van checked out again! The van is a no go they said. Next step is to fly down south, found some cheap flights and we re off to Sydney.

Spent a few nights in the city at friends of ours, where we partied and saw some epic bands. By the time we got into the swing of the city life we headed out to stay with our friend, Matt on the northern beaches. The first surf we had was out at North Narrabeen, solid 6ft fast barrelling rights and left's witch kept us going all afternoon. Not to mention some big beatings too. The swell faded as fast as it came, and we found some fun little waves out at Manly for the next few days...

Soon after the waves had all but gone, we resorted back to the beers, scored some tickets to Black Sabbath and headed out in Matt s old Valiant. No swell and shitty winds forced us to check up on any cheap flights back. The next day I was off home to sort out the next part of the trip.

Mind Fuck Runaway Part 2

After what was an extended stay in the bay, we headed south to the sleepy retired town of Yamba. Along the way the van started to show signs of poor health. Hopping that it would not die completely, we made it into town an dropped it off for repair. In the mean time we surfed in less then average conditions an sat down for more cheap wine. Wishing that the forecast for big swell would hit already. Had a night at the backpackers bar and top pub, we saw some very interesting characters out. One in particular, with only one tooth in his mouth, explaining to me that because of my Irish heritage an his Scottish background that we should form an army and take over the town. With the van returned (fixed, we thought) we hung around town an surfed. Had a few great sessions out at Angourie and it was time to move on.
